- Tuesday (though I'm not sure if we're "supposed" to do anything fun or joyful): Shadow of a Doubt at Skirball @ 1:30, a double feature of Harold and Maude and A Thousand Clowns at the New Beverly Cinema, Art Brut at the Key Club, Sinead O'Connor at the Orpheum or "American Originals" at the Hollywood Bowl where "Leonard Slatkin conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic and soloists Edgar Meyer, double bass, and Michel Camilo, piano, in a program that includes Copland's Appalachian Spring suite, Meyer's Double Bass Concerto No. 2, Schuller's Seven Studies on Themes of Paul Klee, and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue"
- Wednesday: Mary White at Harper's Bar and Grille Brandi Carlile at the House of Blues, or In Hell at the Whitefire
- Thursday: Wolf Parade at the El Rey, Beautiful Morning at the Egyptian ( also on Friday and Saturday), The Magic String at The Next Stage, Butterflies of Uganda at Greenway Court Theatre ( also Friday and Saturday), The Outskirts of Paradise at MET Theatre ( performances on Friday and Saturday as well) or L'Effleur Des Sens at King King Hollywood @ 9.
- Friday: Hubble Vision- A Fascinating Tour of the Cosmos at Cal State Northridge's Bianchi Planetarium @ 7:30,The Misanthrope at New Place Theatre (also performing Saturday night), Modelogues at Dorie Theatre at the Complex ( thursday and saturday shows also), The Hasty Heart at Pacific Resident Theatre (performances on Thursday and Saturday as well), The Dreamer Examines His Pillow at McCadden Theatre (performances Thursday and Saturday as well) or Confessions of a Mormon Boy at the Elephant Theatre (ditto.)
- Saturday: Spontaneous Fantasia at the Glendale C.C.
