Foiled Again

it happened once again. My love of wedding announcements is well known (probably not) but I always love looking for gay union, or whatever announcements. And just like with Keith Porteous and Charles Meade I was shocked and disappointed that the marriage of Jake Lipman and Philip Rothman was, in fact, a regular "sanctioned by god" heterosexual one. Jake is the bride and that is actually her given name, which was kind of unique. Jake Allegra. It's pretty and as I've come to realize you have to become incredibly accomplished to get your wedding announcement in the Times (is this sort of like what society pages were concerned with?)
"The bride, 30, will keep her name. She is an executive assistant at the D.E. Shaw group, a hedge fund in New York. She is also the founder and artistic director of the Tongue in Cheek Theater, an Off Off Broadway company in New York; she has also played leading roles in several of its productions. She graduated from Smith and received an Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School."

And her husband Philip "30, is a composer whose works include “Morningside Run,” which had its premiere in 2002 with the New York Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall. He has orchestrated music for film, including pieces for “Hollywoodland” and “The Nanny Diaries” and is a freelance consultant to arts organizations on grant writing and project design. He will be the composer-in-residence with the Green Bay Symphony for the 2008-9 season. He graduated summa cum laude from Rice University and received a Master of Music degree in composition from Juilliard."

Rather impressive. And though I'm sad y'all are straight, congratulations you two!
