This Confuses Me on a Few Levels

I saw this article on Deadspin and it immediately caught my attention. It's from someplace called Ardmoreite and the article, from The Daily Ardmoreite was titled:
Bad to the (pork) bone: Man jailed for stabbing his friend with an animal bone:

First I have no idea what state/part of the country/country Ardmoreite is. Secondly, who stabs someone with a bone or even thinks that’s possible? But here's the story

Talk about a food fight gone bad...

Police arrested an Ardmore man Monday afternoon after he apparently stabbed an acquaintance in the neck outside a South Washington Street business.

The weapon? A pork chop bone, which police now have safely in custody.

According to police reports, officers responded to the 500 block of South Washington Street about 2:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a fight. When they arrived they found the victim, covered in blood, with a puncture wound in his neck. The victim, who ironically had been released from the county jail just hours earlier, told officers he knew his assailant but did not know his name. The victim was able to give officers a physical description of the man he said stabbed him.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the local emergency room.

At the same time officers spotted the suspect just blocks away. Tony Willis, 38, had blood on his clothing, but denied he had stabbed the victim. Instead Willis claimed the victim had plotted to make him "look bad" by stabbing himself in the neck and then pointing an accusatory finger at him.

Meanwhile emergency room staff treated the victim and released him, telling officers the wound appeared to have been made by an object about the size of a screwdriver.

Willis was not found to be armed with any kind of a screwdriver or knife. He was, however, in possession of a pork chop bone that he apparently wielded during the assault.

There was no indication, however, whether the pork was breaded or grilled.

I have a strong feeling this doesn't happen anywhere in the Middle East.
And on a tangentially related note part of my new year’s resolution is I’ve given up eating anything with a face that I find cute, like cows or pigs. But I’ll eat chicken or fish because really I have no fondness for their disgusting mugs.
(Maybe it’s just a mammal thing)
