*but I still want.
- Stuff for the dream house
- I must say if I had Saddam's old yacht, the Qadissivat Saddam, I wouldn't need one of your silly land based homes. Now all I need is like 30 million dollars (plus the millions on upkeep that will be required.) I'm actually amazed some rap label hasn't bought it yet as a sign of their economic strength and hard core credentials.
- One thing that I highly doubt is on the Qadissivat Saddam is this $27 million replica of the Beijing Da Shu fountain. It's made of "a combination of luxury minerals including gold, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, pearls, jades, crystals, and emeralds."
- But I don't think I'd want such an expenisve boat if I had the world's first diving car the sQuba, which "will have two propellers and dual jet drives, thrusting it through water up to 10 meters deep. But on less fantastical mindblowingly expensive notes
- The Brisa 2000 Steampunk is a "ceiling fans look like a moon and the international space station orbiting the earth" It's a very interesting design but, does it work as well as like a regular ceiling fan?
- These Blood Puddle Pillow by Keetra seem a little morbid and perhaps cruel if your friends didn't know about them but I'm sure it'd be good for a few laughs, Halloween parties and of course pictures.
- Having a Carpet Alarm Clock by Yanko Designs that only stops when you stand on it is one of the best ideas for a clock guaranteed to amke you get out of bed. Standing up is a little more difficult then pushing snooze and putting the pillow over your head.
- Of course once the alarm stops you may want to plop back down and what better place than the Gold Chair by Fredrik Mattson :"uxurious chairs made of real wood waste upwards of 70% of the wood since artists and designers strive to use only blemish- and knot-free wood. Fredrik Mattson is leading the advocacy of utilizing varnished surfaces to hide any flaws in the wood. On the Golden Chair, Mattson used a 24 carat gold varnish" Plus having a gold chair just screams unnecessary luxury
- I haven't had a fireplace where I live since my first house when I was like 10 and I really do miss laying in front of the fire (says the girl born and raised in So Cal.) And with these oh so cool designs, from EcoSmart Fire and Cera Designs it would be a lot more stylish than my old brick one.
- From Domestic comes " mirrors [that] are a reflection of you, and can make a strong statement about your flair for design and choices in lifestyle." They have really cool designs; I think this one is my favorite, but I'm a little obsessed with Alice in Wonderland right now. I like this one too. And this Duke of Urbino one. Hmm maybe I just need to have a big enough house for one in each room (or a whimsical mirror room)
- And in my hall of whimsical mirrors I think a great touch would be this "Cloud Chandelier from Stonegate Designs ... comprised of 17 hand-blown fixtures"
- Random Wants
- "Google’s new phone, the Android, is in the hands of testers and getting closer to being in the hands of technology media" and I really want it to go big so I will end up being right after all this time preaching about "Androids taking over the world" and if it is related to Google it will end up taking over the world. Plus it should be cool, though I know absolutely nothing about it besides it looks kinda clunky and masculine in a way.
- I really hope the Sony Odo Twirl N’ Take digital camera starts being mass produced soon because I think it would be a great gift to send to Hubby. "nstead of being powered by batteries, the 3 mega-pixel Odo gets its juice from your power alone. There’s a wheel on top of the camera body that, when spun by the user for 15 seconds, gives the digicam the power it needs to snap a shot" which means it's perfect for Burkina Faso. (so.far.away.)
- Squishables are "giant round fuzzy stuffed animals" and yes I would hug them. A lot. Especially the monkey and penguin and cow.
- And this is and amazing idea. Do you know when you're reading and you're trying to hold open a new paperback book and you have to fumble around with two hands? Well The Thumbthing solves that problem "Simply put the Thumbthing onto your thumb and place into the spine of the book. The two wings will hold the pages open more easily, making reading more comfortable" So genius and needed, I don't know why it took this long (or why I never thought of it)
- Fashion (or something like it)
- The Perfect Black Dress for New Years (and I'm not sure it's here besides maybe 3 or 4 or maybe 2)
- Bags
- The "Flip and Tumble Bag" is a reusable bag you can ball up throw into your purse. And it's only $15
- Wristlet by Miss Alison
- Bypimkie a grand sac tweed bag with an external attached coin purse, it seems.
- A Gunmetal Calf Leather Bucket Handbag from Coccinelle
- Environmentally friendly (a percentage of sales goes to replanting the forest) cedar bags from Monacca
- By YSL a "Flannel and leather small carry-on with brass hardware, double zip closure, functional brass lock and key and luggage tag" Though I would not trust the TSA with it, at all.
- "5 It Bags for the Season"
- And who would want one of these coin purses. my first thought when I saw it, and my thought now is "ewww"
- Jackets and Belts
- Jewelry
- Snap Rings by Ana Cardim
- From Dinosaur Designs and Resin Jewellry, the Long Log Bangle
- Tension Set Rings by Paul DeBlassie IV
- A mini microphone/ring from Analogue Aesthetics
- and a Do It Yourself Sterling Silver Love Letter pendant kit. (i've fallen into arts & crafts)
- Footwear
- Organic Shoes are in (as is my irrational hatred of hippies; I'm sensing a slight internal conflict)
- J. Shoes Jane boots.
- Suede T-strap shoe with floral detai by Prada
- Suede and python slingback with jewel detail by Miu Miu
- And of course I want all of the above to be in "2008's Color of The Year" Blue Iris as selected by Pantone. Blue Iris is " a beautifully balanced blue-purple. The color combo reflects “the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple,” the company says, adding it “satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement.Emotionally, it is anchoring and meditative with a touch of magic.” Plus it's purdy and I love purples. I'm excited.
