Go Back To The Gutter, Adnan

Adnan Ghalib is a sleazy disgusting horrible human being if this recent Star report is to be believed where he's bragging to friends that he's gotten Britney pregnant

"Only weeks after Britney Spears drove to Rosarita Beach, Mexico to exchange marriage vows with Adnan Ghalib, the paparazzo is bragging to friends that she is going to have his baby, Star has learned exclusively.

And what do you know! The fallen pop princess’ belly is starting to show a little bulge, in spite of hours of classes at the Millennium Dance Complex.

“Britney is Adnan’s dream come true. He knows that if he has a child with Brit, he’ll be made for life,” one friend of Adnan’s tells Star.

(celebitchy)

after reading that Rolling Stones profile on the American Tragedy of Britney Spears I actually thought for a brief momenthe might have Britney's best interest at heart but it appears that he's actually like all the rest just a bloodsucker.
Though I will be honest and admit I was about to call him much worse in what I thought was another example of horrible hypocrisy until i saw the full video and it's only regular hypocrisy

though asking if she's a good kisser is so sleazy and was over the line. Plus didn't you know Adnan only kisses and tells in print.
asshole.

George Clooney is a bit Fake

Especially if this Radar article is to be believed

Indeed, for the past few years [Clooney's] public image has hovered above those of his famous colleagues like a gleaming bubble rising from a heavily perfumed bath. But recently, Clooney's impossibly flawless exterior seems to have taken on too much air, with reports of some very un-Clooney-like behavior. There was, for instance, that motorcycle crash in Weehawken, New Jersey, which left girlfriend Sarah Larson with a broken toe (the parties blame each other, and the case is still under investigation), and a near-fistfight with romance-novel cover boy Fabio in November. Suddenly, Clooney's become the bubble people are lining up to pop.

The most recent salvo was fired by, of all people, Rupert Everett, who in a December 15 interview with the UK Independent, took aim at the actor's unusually diverse résumé: "Clooney thinks that provided he does films which are politically committed he's allowed to do Ocean's Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen. But the Ocean's movies are a cancer to world culture. They're destroying us."

Everett didn't confine his comments to Clooney's filmic output. "He's not the brightest spark on the boulevard," he went on, predicting, "He'll be president one day. Mark my words, if he's straight, he'll be president." Though Everett seems to have meant it as an insult (and in the waning days of the Bush years, it's gotta sting), Clooney's name has, in fact, been bandied about recently as a possible candidate for governor of California, and, according to gossip columnist Cindy Adams, Arnold himself is fanning the flames. (Of the buzz, the actor has said, "Believe me, you don't want me in politics." Self-deprecating, sexy, yet slyly ambiguous—that's Clooney!)

But increasingly, an avid anti-Clooney faction is emerging. No one, save Everett, wants to go on the record, but under cover of anonymity the tales emerge, sprinkled in many cases with a dose of real resentment. According to Hollywood insiders, Clooney is an overhyped egomaniac, a phony, and a "bully" with a "whopping temper." And worst of all, at least in Hollywood: He can't open a movie.

"Oh. you mean Mr. Beautiful, Mr. Nice, Mr. Politically Correct, and All That Other Crap Guy?" growled a formidable Hollywood agent when asked about the actor. "He's the perfect human being, except that he has the biggest ego in the world and never lets the public know because it wouldn't be the right kind of image."

Lately, though, we've been treated to tiny glimpses of that other Clooney. Back in August, for instance, an Italian reporter at the Venice Film Festival asked him how he squared Michael Clayton's critique of corporate greed with his recent ad for Nespresso, given the international boycott of Nestlé for pushing what critics say is potentially harmful infant formula in developing countries.

The Clooney Bin from RADAR on Vimeo.
As he listened to the question being translated on a headset, a deeply tanned Clooney ran through an amazing array of expressions (annoyed, condescending, threatening, confused, disgusted...) before offering the most dismissive response imaginable: "Yeah, okay—look, I'm not going to apologize to you for trying to make a living every once in a while," he offered before mentioning his efforts in the Sudan and concluding with a wave of the hand, "It's sort of an irritating question."

The actor was dining at the swanky Hollywood eatery Madeo when a camera flash raised his ire. He seems to have thought the group of women at a nearby table were snapping his picture, but in fact they were documenting their evening with another sex symbol. Harlequin heartthrob Fabio was participating in a charity event on behalf of the 11-99 Foundation, benefiting California Highway Patrol family members—and Clooney, for once, was in the background.

As Fabio tells it, one of the six women at his table informed him that "a gentleman" a few tables behind him was flipping the bird every time she took a picture. Recognizing Clooney, Fabio says he approached the actor's table to explain the situation.

"He says, 'Fuck you,' and tried to push me—but I didn't move, and instead he fell back," Fabio recalls. "Then I got in his face, and I called him every name in the book. And he says, 'Get away from me, you big thing.'" Fabio's impression of Clooney's voice is decidedly unmanly. He also notes that the actor appeared to be in his cups.

The former cover boy returned to his table, but says he finally lost his temper when the actor dropped by on his way out to call one woman a "fat bitch" and another a "fat cow."

"That's when I got up, but he ran out of the restaurant," Fabio says, adding philosophically, "It doesn't matter how much money you have. If you're white trash, you're always white trash. He's not even half a man."

Clooney may owe his sinking reputation, like so many pop cultural phenomena, to South Park.
They parodied the actor in Team America: World Police, and pounced again after Clooney's 2006 Oscar acceptance speech for Syriana. "We are a little bit out of touch in Hollywood every once in a while," the actor proclaimed. "I think it's probably a good thing. We're the ones who talked about AIDS when it was just being whispered, and we talked about civil rights when it wasn't really popular."

In the 2006 South Park episode, the speech gives rise to a cloud of smugness that, combined with the emissions of hybrid cars, ultimately endangers the nation. It is, says a local weatherman, "the perfect storm of self-satisfaction."

It was widely felt that Clooney's self-righteousness got the better of him, for instance, during his infamous 2002 dispute with his longtime agent at CAA, Michael Gruber. The conflict involved Clooney's purchase of Villa Oleandra, on the shore of Lake Como. Gruber, who helped steer the actor from prime-time television to his first blockbuster hit, The Perfect Storm, introduced the sellers to Clooney, and contemplated pocketing a $250,000 finder's fee for his efforts. "I introduced friends to George," Gruber later told Variety. "While a finder's fee was discussed, and disclosed to Clooney, it was never expected, and it was never received."

When Clooney heard about the proposed payment, he went ballistic, apparently making such an issue over the incident that Gruber was forced to leave CAA. "He ruined that guy in this town," claims a well-placed source with a major talent agency. "Maybe Gruber was an idiot to try it, but get over it! Change agents, move on! It's enough that he lost his job. But that wasn't enough for George. He just had to ruin his career. He had to kill him." (Clooney declined to comment.)

Before running afoul of Clooney, Gruber repped the likes of Brett Ratner and Ice Cube. After a brief return to agency work at ICM in 2005, he's currently working in the nightclub business.

"George has a whopping temper. I mean volcanic," asserts a well-placed studio executive who has worked with Clooney in the past, adding that alcohol often helps bring out the beast in him.The executive points to Clooney's dustup with Good Night, and Good Luck producer Simon Franks at an afterparty for the film's London premiere at the Floridita nightclub on November 3, 2005.

"Depending on who you believe," says the studio exec, who spoke with a number of witnesses to the event, "it was either that Simon Franks was trying to pick up Clooney's girlfriend, or that Clooney was mad because he went outside to get his limo in the back alley and it wasn't there, or that somebody just looked at somebody the wrong way and he went off. It was a late-night—maybe not a brawl—but a good, solid fistfight."

Various accounts of the fight were reported in the UK tabloids, most of which pegged Clooney as the aggressor.

"George was livid and trying to knock the living daylights out of the other guy," a witness told the London Sun. Clooney's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, explained things this way: It had "to do with someone being unkind to a woman. No punches were thrown, [but] George told the person to knock it off."

Clooney himself released a statement the following day, declaring, "I won't stand by while someone is being insulted and maligned."

Whatever the truth, the event apparently so rankled Clooney that three months later, he was still holding a grudge, according to the Daily Telegraph, which claimed the actor had Franks barred from Harvey Weinstein's glitzy BAFTA party at London nightclub The Hospital.

he responded to a savage review of his directorial debut, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, by egging the house of the writer, Los Angeles Times movie critic Kenneth Turan. "He and a bunch of guys who were all in black tie got in a limo, and they each took a dozen eggs," recalls a studio suit who heard the tale from the actor himself. "They went by Turan's house and they egged it.

When Turan began telling the story, the exec continues, "George then used that to his advantage. He contacted the editor of the Los Angeles Times and basically said, 'It's bad enough that Kenny Turan has lambasted all my movies, and particularly the one I directed, but now he's going around saying I've egged his house. For God's sake, I'm a 43-year-old man! I mean, will he stop at nothing?'"

Perhaps Clooney's biggest scrap was with director David O. Russell on the set of Three Kings. Russell and Clooney reportedly had a tense relationship from the start because Clooney was not Russell's first choice for the role. According to Sharon Waxman's Hollywood tell-all, Rebels on the Backlot, the director even went so far as to make Clooney do yogic breathing exercises to curb the actor's tendency to squint when he delivered his lines. Depending on which version you believe, the two either almost came to blows or Russell wound up on the receiving end of a Clooney headlock. One thing that cannot be disputed is that Clooney kicked Russell's ass in the PR spin war that followed.

"I would not stand for him humiliating and yelling and screaming at crew members, who weren't allowed to defend themselves," the actor told Vanity Fair in October 2003. "I don't believe in it, and it makes me crazy. So my job was to humiliate the people who were doing the humiliating."

"George Clooney can suck my dick," Russell responded, adding, "He's a really good person, and I'm a really bad person, right? He's a super-political, extremely manipulative guy, and he's not an artist. I think George is super-invested in making himself look like a good guy all the time. I think George will be president."

Anyone inclined to take Russell's side was likely persuaded otherwise when a clip of the director verbally abusing Lily Tomlin on the set of I Heart Huckabees was leaked to YouTube last year. Speculation as to its origins immediately pointed to Clooney.

"Clooney paid the [cameraman] to release it," insists the well-placed agent. "It was all him."

George Clooney is as entitled to his occasional missteps as anyone—that is, he would be, say his critics, if his movies earned money. Unfortunately, they rarely do. "Look at his box office!" says the power agent. "The bottom line is, the only movies he's made money on are either movies costarring Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and Mark Wahlberg, or one starring a giant wave. Everything else: nothing."

Even Michael Clayton, for which Clooney was tipped as a likely Oscar nominee, has been fairly flat, bringing in just $39 million on an estimated $25 million budget—a payday that wouldn't make up even half the losses on last year's ill-fated Clooney vehicle, a black-and-white World War II noir called The Good German, which earned just $1.3 million of its estimated $32 million budget. One prominent screenwriter sees that film as a rare case in which Clooney eagerly spread the credit around: "It was always promoted as starring George Clooney, Tobey Maguire, and Cate Blanchett—though clearly it was George's movie."

"When that thing completely cratered, no stink got attached," notes the screenwriter with annoyance.

Actually, Clooney's big-screen career has generated quite a lot of stink for such a major celebrity. Excluding the star-studded Ocean's Eleven and its sequels, which have made a fortune for Warner Bros., most of Clooney's films have actually lost money at the domestic box office. Even the critically acclaimed Steven Soderbergh film Out of Sight, costarring Jennifer Lopez, failed to make back the $48 million it cost.

The fact that Soderbergh and Clooney had final cut on the films they produced was intended as a buffer against studio interference. But some directors soon found that they had more to worry about from the partners themselves. "They didn't always stand up for the artist," recalls the studio exec, "which was the thing that they were promising. Sometimes it was just ego-driven stuff, and then there were other occasions where it was like, 'Well, yeah, but we see it differently and we're going to get what we want.'"

The exec reports that during the production company's six-year run, numerous talent felt they'd been undercut by the duo—among them writer/director Ted Griffin, who was signed to helm his script Rumor Has It, but was sacked after 10 days of filming. "Famously, the biggest fight was with Syriana director Steve Gaghan," recalls the exec, who had direct knowledge of the day-to-day production. "Syriana is the most regretful case, because they wound up cutting a lot of the heart out of the movie," he continued, noting that at least four scenes were deleted "that [Gaghan] was very dedicated to keeping in."

In an interview with the Financial Times, Gaghan said Soderbergh "ruined my movie" by shaving off 24 critical minutes. "It's ego and power," Gaghan told interviewer Nigel Andrews. "End of story." At which point, Andrews notes, the writer/director, who received no mention in Clooney's Oscar acceptance speech, unleashed an off-the-record "blistering attack on another significant player in Syriana who insisted on cutting the film just where, for Gaghan, its major veins and arteries were." Clooney was the only other person with final-cut approval.

And if that weren’t proof enough here are some strangely almost animation like airbrushed images from the promotional campaign for his new film Leatherheads (from the Daily Mail)

Where have you gone, non self important George Clooney?

Usually I couldn’t care less about whichever incubus* Britney has attached to her, this month being Adnan Ghalib but the..what’s the word oh yeah BLATANT HYPOCRISY in this story was just too much

Really?! Surely you guys can find a better way to make your money"says the ex-paparrazzo who oh so recently was doing THE EXACT SAME THING

Maybe this is the way to get paparazzi to go away- if you start constantly filming their every move, but Adnan you’re not a public figure you’re a leech and you should know the parasitic rules of the game better than anyone
I’m just glad that if the 8th plague has to descend on someone they descended on you (and yes this may be the first and only time I’ll be on the side of the paparazzi, or at least the ones who know their place

Esai's an Asshole

I was watching Jericho last night in bed, just because of the Nuts! Thing where fans were able to save the show I wanted to see what was so beloved and it is all sorts of exciting, but anyway I was watching it last night when I recognized one of the official army guys as Esai Morales, which gave me pause because I remembered reading about him being accused of rape and I wasn’t exactly sure that had been resolved.

According to the complaint, Morales assaulted her "on or about May 19, 2006, whereby Defendant forcibly...had sex with Plaintiff over her repeated verbal protests and attempts to escape."

Mazzocchi alleges that Morales physically assaulted her in a separate incident in November, 2006, "[k]icking, punching and chasing Plaintiff which resulted in Plaintiff calling 911."

Mazzocchi further charges Morales with intentionally infecting her with herpes, according to court papers obtained by CelebTV.com. In addition to the explosive claims of sexual and physical violence, Mazzocchi claims the "NYPD Blue" actor owes her $25,000.

Here’s Esai’s response from his MySpace page
From July 23rd (so it’s not like these charges came out of the blue when they were deep into filming-I’m not even sure the series had been revived at that point)
July 23, 2007

To My Fans,

As you may have already heard, I have been put in a very frustrating situation by some hurtful accusations that were leveled against me in a recent lawsuit. But, because of the nature of the litigious society we live in, my very competent legal counsel is advising me not to comment at this time.

Yet, I need to assure you personally that the charges that have been leveled against me are absolutely false and without merit and I am prepared to vigorously defend myself and my reputation.

You know me. You've known me for nearly three decades. And you know in your hearts that these claims are baseless. This is not the way I live my life and I am incapable of committing these kinds of acts.

I am proud of my humanity, my activism and my respect for fellow human beings. I will continue to be optimistic and I will not let a personal attack deter me from the bigger picture.

I am grateful and humbled by your prayers, well wishes and expressions of trust and support at this time and look forward to the day when the truth will prevail.

Peace,

Esai Morales

From a transcript of a press conference given by his accusing victim, Elizabeth
Given last month (!)
In January 2006, Esai Morales and I began dating. Shortly afterwards, our relationship evolved into a business relationship and I became his talent manager as well as his girlfriend. In March of 2006, I moved into his Los Angeles home, where we lived together as boyfriend and girlfriend for over one year. The initial months of our relationship were the happiest times of my life. I was deeply in love with Esai, and he told me that he felt the same way.

In April of 2006, everything changed. Esai began to physically and verbally abuse me. His physical abuse often caused bruising and bleeding. His most vicious attack occurred on May 19, 2006 when, despite my objections and attempts to escape, Esai Morales held me down and forcibly raped me.

Throughout the rape, he screamed that I "wanted it" and he called me a whore.

After the rape, Esai Morales gave me gifts, and warned me that I should never speak out about the rape. He said he did it because he was upset, and that deep down he loved me. Though it seems almost inconceivable to me as I stand here before you today, I believed him. I wanted so much to believe that the wonderful, gracious and caring person I had come to know was incapable of being such a monster.

Esai also gave me herpes, from which I will suffer pain and humiliation every day for the rest of my life. When I learned I had herpes in September 2006, I confronted him, and he told me that he had known since long before we began dating that he had the disease. He also said, "So what -- 30 million other people have it too."
….

Since I initiated my lawsuit against Esai Morales, I have been approached by a number of people who have told me that they too were sexually assaulted and/or violently raped by Esai Morales.

Two of these women have provided me with sworn declarations describing Esai Morales' conduct in detail. They are both prepared to assist me in my lawsuit and to speak to the press to shed light on what a monster Esai Morales actually is. One of these women in particular describes a scene when, as a college student, she went out on a date with Esai Morales. When she went to pick up him at his house at the beginning of the date, Esai Morales asked her to come in and then violently and viciously raped her. Just like he had done with me, he told her she "wanted it," and called her a "whore." Then, he threatened her and stalked her to keep her quiet.

I am coming forward today and holding this press conference for 4 main reasons:

First, I feel like I have an obligation to Esai Morales' prior victims who have bravely come forward to tell their nightmarish stories of rape and sexual assault….These women came forward despite fears for their safety, fears based on the fact that Esai Morales had previously stalked and threatened them -- as he did to me. I have an obligation to these brave women to honor their courage and fearlessness in coming forward. It is for these prior victims -- who have recently come forward and are finally getting a chance to raise their voices -- that I am speaking out today.

Second, I feel like I have an obligation to Esai Morales' prior victims who have not yet come forward. I understand how these women feel. I was in their shoes: Esai Morales had abused, raped, and threatened me too. I too feared for my life based on his threats. But I have found strength in the other brave women victimized by Esai Morales who have come forward and signed declarations detailing his prior sexual abuse. I feel empowered to carry on and fight the good fight. Because these brave women empowered me, I want to share this sense of empowerment with other women who are currently out there who are perhaps lonely, perhaps scared, but who all share the common trauma of having been sexually abused by Esai Morales
Third, I feel like I have an obligation to all of the innocent women out there who may one day be victimized by Esai Morales. Hopefully, by coming forward together with Esai Morales' prior victims, we can prevent him from raping any more innocent women.
Finally, I feel like I have an obligation to myself. As a result of Esai Morales' rape and subsequent threats of physical harm against me if I came forward, I have been forced to move from my home and live like a fugitive. I have been living in fear and in hiding for too long. I have chosen to retake control of my life. It is my hope that by coming forward and publicizing my story, Esai Morales will be less likely to carry through with his threats to physically harm me.

And it kind of shocked me and took me aback that there wouldn’t be some kind of shunning or at least temporary (unofficial) blacklisting of someone accused of such a reprehensible crime or at least not featuring him prominently in a network show. I know to suggest some sort of morality code in Hollywood is the most ludicrous and naïve idea ever, and one that is doomed to failure, but for certain crimes that everyone recognizes as horrible can’t producers and casting agents just say “hey, until this is all resolved and the truth comes out in your case we won’t hire yo. We don’t want to be in the position where some blogger can accuse us of being insensitive to rape victims “ I mean Isaiah Washington was excoriated widely and that was just for using a slur. Esai Morales (allegedly) raped multiple women and there seems to be no outcry.
Of course this is all alleged and he said she said but still,... it makes me uncomfortable.

Jericho was not a city of refuge then and it shouldn’t be now.
Hopefully his character gets killed off relatively soon

"I Can't Stand Those Useless Fools-EMI"

“they only did it cause of fame”
From Strange Glue comes another reason I hate corporations

Poor Radiohead. Ever intelligent to come up with new ways to startle the music industry, to turn it up on its head and managing to embarrass their former label EMI in the process.

Yet EMI will fight back the traditional way this summer, striking the cash piñata that is Radiohead’s back catalogue, by releasing a “Greatest Hits” album, something the band say they are powerless to stop.

Ed O’Brien recently interviewed by the Canadian music press said that “They’re [EMI] planning to do a greatest hits for April or May to coincide with our tour, that’s an interesting one. We won’t be doing any promotion for that, obviously.”

The news comes swiftly on the heels of new EMI boss Guy Hands stated policy, to start using the back catalogue of their artists to beef up profits. Something that was quite apparent when EMI released the seven disc Radiohead boxset at the same time as the band unveiled ‘In Rainbows’.

Quite whether EMI will go the whole hog and get the album sponsored as they’ve been reflecting upon recently remains to be seen.

You really don’t want to piss off a band who’s fan base is so rabid and obsessive for a few bucks selling a greatest hits collection that most any true fan wouldn’t need because they already have the full catalog, plus concert bootlegs, plus unreleased b-sides. And I don’t know any Radiohead fan who would buy something that the band is so against. "That Guy"

You know the guy, the one who sees a camera rolling and tries to position himself in the background for his 3 seconds of fame? Well that Chris Mottram brilliance reminded me and sparked my interest and sent me to the youtubes in order provide some examples and warnings to not be “that guy”

Here is Jim Carrey back in his "In Living Color" days

Two friends who staged a fake fight in the background of a British news broadcast in Norfolk

a college kid at Case Western found his moment in a live report I guess about the Va Tech massacree and it’s affect there

That guy may be drunk and he may be an oil worker, unless he’s just a lot drunker than I thought

Sioux vs Gophers post hockey match. “That Guy” is a Holy Cross fan

here’s a pretty big dick in the background

If you have to be That Guy just know that reporters can get angry

know when enough is enough though; this guy’s just an ass

BUT if you really have to do it, if you have to be "That Guy" do it in style

Was that a stroke of luck or a did he see an opportunity and make a spontaneous decision? Because that was amazing. Well done sir, well done

Owens ("The Biggest Loser"), Mike Nichols ("Victoria Beckham: Coming to America") and Jon Hotchkiss ("Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t!") are the executive producers.

"Amne$ia" is a thrilling comedy-game show where contestants are challenged to answer a variety of questions from their own life for money. Memories will be tested and blasts-from-the-past will be revealed as contestants wrack their brains to answer some of the most challenging questions -- often with hilarious results. Five-time Emmy Award-winning comedian and popular talk show host Dennis Miller ("Dennis Miller Live") is host of the comedy quiz show from Mark Burnett Productions, the producers of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" and "Celebrity Apprentice." Mark Burnett, Adam Cohen, Cara Tapper and Joanna Vernetti serve as executive producers.

Miller can currently be heard on his nationally syndicated radio talk show, "The Dennis Miller Show," five days a week. He is a five-time Emmy winner for his critically acclaimed, half-hour live talk show "Dennis Miller Live," which had a nine-year run on HBO. He also wrote and starred in the Emmy-nominated cable comedy special "Raw Feed," his sixth such special. He was also the host and executive producer of CNBC's "Dennis Miller," a topical interview talk show featuring reasoned discourse, opinion and humor. Additionally, Miller has appeared on many politically oriented television talk shows, and has acted in several feature films including "Disclosure" and "The Net."

It's been a banner season for NBC's unscripted programs, especially through the month of January. "American Gladiators," "Deal or No Deal," "Celebrity Apprentice" and "The Biggest Loser" are all scoring top-15 ratings in adults 18-49 for the first quarter to date, ranking #6, tied for #7, tied for #9 and tied for #12 respectively among all primetime network series for the quarter through January 20. That impressive lineup has played a key role in lifting NBC to #2 in adults 18-49 for the quarter to date, and with the strongest year-to-year comparisons in regular programs for any of the major networks.

When I first saw the commercial I saw a cross between American Gladiators (with like a tennis ball cannon from Assault), Fear Factor (transporting scorpions), Double Dare, (I saw slime) Dog eat Dog (trash talk will be encouraged), and like Legends of the Hidden Temple (I think I saw someone climbing a cheapily made tree).

And I'm sure Amne$ia is even better. What happened to Dennis Miller?

So let’s get this straight these shows are coming on the air but it can be reasonably inferred from this interview with Ben Silverman from Radar that Friday Night Lights isn’t coming back

Radar: Quick question! A lot of us are happy that you've kept Friday Night Lights on the air despite lousy ratings. It's totally the best show on TV. But is there going to be another season?
Silverman: Do you watch 30 Rock? That's the best show on TV.

Not regularly. But what about FNL?
Start watching 30 Rock. It's the best show on TV.

I don't want to watch 30 Rock. I want to watch FNL. I love it.
I love it. You love it. Unfortunately, no one watches it. That's the thing with shows. People have to watch them. We're NBC, we have a reputation to uphold. And, man, with this writers' strike ... well, we'll see what we can do. But start watching 30 Rock.

We're NBC, we have a reputation to uphold

That’s right Ben, a reputation of being in 4th place when there's actually something to watch that's not a reality game show and with such prestige shows as “My Dad is Better Than Your Dad” which is a retread of retreads (hosted by a has been retread who was last cool when George Costanza had a mancrush on him) But of course you're whole reputation has been on retreading, or as you probably call it importing
Nice job. Ass. Hope you had a nice prom

(sorry I got a little angry but I really love Friday Night Lights)

Mean People Still Suck

and there are way too many transphobic assholes in the world.

"Calpernia and Andrea read some of the worst comments people have left on perezhilton.com and abc.com in response to "Transamerican Love Story", their new Logo transsexual dating show coming out in February"

I do really love those two though. (originally found on Good As You)

And from somewhere across a Pond-I can't tell by the accents if they're Australians or British, maybe New Zealand, comes these wankers

(from Queerty)

I'll never understand people who go out of their way to hate. Maybe it's just because I'm lazy but, I find it quite easy to just love everyone. Except for assholes.

(p.s., i hadn't planned on "over posting" today but..I felt compelled by those videos)

A Reason Why "My" Dog Creeps Me Out

Every so often my brother brings his boyfriend's dogs over to my house so they can run and play in a bigger yard while he goes some place and it never fails to happen that my dog

and he's been neutered (or spayed or whatever you do to boy dogs) for 3 years. I mean he has no doggie balls yet like today when they were in the house for fear of the gardener and I didn't hear or see them for like 10 minutes I find my boy dog fully mounted and on top of my brother's bf's dog and doing that pumping motion (sans penetration) with that weird red penis thing out. It's very disturbing. And it really freaks me out because it seems like he's basically raping her even though he's been castrated. Is that normal? Shouldn't that not happen?
It really just goes to show that no matter the species dicks make guys assholes. (case in point-"Warner Bros president of production Jeff Robinov has made a new decree that "We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead." Funny I thought Cavemen was an ABC TV Studio property. Ass)
(and this was a make up post- I was going to post the video for Gimme More but after a few hours it was taken down from YouTube until I guess the monday premiere. You can see snippets here, but this post was inspired by this.)

Mike Gundy Lectures the Oklahoma Media...

on being good people and to be more compassionate instead of heartless assholes on deadline with an itch for "controversy"

I didn't read the article (you can find it here) nor did I necessarily care about Oklahoma State Football, but it's really good to see a coach who really seems to care about his players, not just as athletes, but almost like they are his own sons. And the fact the kids are really just kids, with emotions and a worth off the field, we sometimes forget. Near the end I wanted to break out into applause but I thought that may be frowned upon in a news setting. I'm happy to see some people didn't care.
Good luck Mike Gundy- you have a new fan

TMI: Family Ties

Stop me if you've heard this before. So of the ideas I had for this and things I wanted to include here I think I may have already written but I'm not sure and I'm too lazy to look and I may have confused this with time with my therapists so who knows. I doubt anyone reads these anyway; they're more for me to vent. And this is what I feel I need to vent about this week. So...
I don't know if I have a normal family, though there is no such thing as normal especially when it comes to family, but just the family dynamic and the sense of belonging and cohesiveness and mutual caring I don't think I've ever experienced. I guess it started when I was young; my dad was an alcoholic and though I don't know if he ever physically hurt my mom, I doubt she would tell me if I asked I remember, especially on one occasion when I was about 3 or 4 my mom bundled my brother and I into a car and we parked in our local grocery store parking lot and slept there for the night. They never got along that I can remember, all I can think of is them yelling at each other and me crying for them to stop. They got divorced when I was 5. Since then I saw him often when he lived out near us then he started moving around the country and I calculated that in the last 8 years I've sen him 3 times; once when we flew down to viist him after he was in a freak accident, 2ndly my high-school graduation and finally for graduation this year. I never talk to him because he really means nothing to me, though I was very close to writing him, for the sole purpose of berating him, calling his life a failure telling him that he would probably die alone because he was already dead to me yada yada, before I calmed myself down, in response to an e-mail he wrote saying he was disappointed in me. Considering how he lives in the deep south I really have no plans to ever see him again. My brother was born four and a half years before me and so we were never really close. When I was in 1st graded and was going to the same school as him, he was in the 6th and would have nothing to do with me, not even showing me around. Then of course when you grow up he enters puberty when I'm still a kid and when I'm at that tstage of trying to figure out wtf is happening physically he's off to college. Of course he was always my big brother and I always thought I cared about him and wanted to please him, and perhaps to some extent I still do but the fact we never have conversations and he seems to hate me sort of cuts that off quick. Even though I've known he was gay since I was either 12 or 13 and I, as the younger kid is wont to do, was snooping around in his computer and came upon a letter he wrote to one of his track friends begging him not to "let some gay shit" get in the way of their friendship, well for that reason and the fact that whenever anyone would ask him why he didn't have a girlfriend he would always reply that he was focusing on school, or that in college he had my mom and I come up (on the weekend of CIF finals no less) to see a reversed gendered romeo and juliet that had so many phalli. When I actually came out to him, over AIM but still, it was in december and when I told him I was a transsexual I remember him freaking out and asking me if I still had my penis and telling me I couldn't get "rid of it" for years and years and really not offering any support, which really shocked and confused me especially when I came home for winter break and his boyfriend is living in my house and my mom I guess was trying to be oblivious. Now that I've been in L.A. he's just incredibly contemptuous of me (and of course we've never had a real conversation, like ever) and dismisses anything I do with such an air of arrogance, though he's done nothing to warrant it, to the point where he's become just another asshole to me that I can do without, which sucks because I would love to have a big brother; I just wish he were'nt such a bastard. I've never been sure what caused this contempt that is so deep he couldn't come to my high school or college graduations, I have a few theories but I feel that it's one of those "all about me" things; one that he was jealous of me that I went to H-W and then Duke, both amazingly prestigious and privileged schools or that I was able to go to Africa for a summer and stuff like that and so he's jealous of the opportunites that I have been afforded, as well as the fact that apparently people who know us tell him that I'm smarter than he is, which has to be grating.. My other theory as to why he has not really accepted me is that even though he's almost 5 years older than me, and almost 30 now, I came out before him and that crushed his hope that I could give my mom her genetic grandkids and now that responsibility falls to him and now he's confronting his own fear of coming out (which at this point I don't understand, I mean he's been living with this guy, that I actually don't like and seems very white trashy, for a few years now, though maybe it's different for older kids) I can totally understand the feeling of not wanting to disappoint my mom, who after my grandma died around the same time the only male figure in my life, my uncle died, has been the most important person in my world and that fear of disappointing her was probably what kept me from coming out for so long. My mom, her brother was 20 when she was born and so all of my cousins are either in alabama, and so I never will see them, or are 50 and if I can be blunt they are a sorry lot. Though I looked up to them all when I was young; I remember when I was about 11 sitting at maybe a Burger King with 2 of them and them quizzing me as to whether I was gay, which at that point I didn't understand. Well two have been in prison, one is okay and the other has no money in his bank account and has been living in my house, smoking weed every morning and paying no rent fr five years. Oh he's 50 and I despise him, not even for the fact that he used to call me a "fag" (lovely word) And so I've never had cousins my age to grow and play with, or whatevs. Or maybe my brother's reticence comes from our family's religiousness. Both of my grandparents were ministers and I was being groomed to be the next generation until I was about 13 and stopped believing in their god when he couldn't transfigure me into becoming a girl. But so my mom is very religious and whenever anything homosexual or whatever came on television, for example she would decry the immorality of civilization (which thankfully she has stopped doing, I'd like to think because of me.) I've always loved my mom and she loves me, as all parents must, but I've always felt there was a distance between us, perhaps because of the gigantic secret I held for so many years, maybe because as a single mom who also was active in all these organizations so I never really saw her which always sucked because I would have loved to spend time with her but she was always "not there." And now as I'm about to move to San Fran the closeness that I thought we gained in the past few months is leaving and though she loves me I'm not sure she supports me. Like the fact I have no money for hormones right now is incredibly frustrating because I know if I were to ask her for "money for hormones" she wouldn't give it to me so I become depressed over the state of my life. At certain points it gets real lonely not having a family not having people you know care about you. I really envy those (obviously fake) families with large Thanksgiving dinners or Christmas parties; I don't even know my uncle's birthday. Family is what is meant to moor you, to give you some sense of place and belonging and the fact I've never felt that obviously contributes to the isolation I would naturally feel, "in my current state." I would love to know that there are people who live me no matter what (besides my amazing friends.) or no matter what I am. Even though I really think identical twins are kind of creepy ( half a soul!) I would love to be able to have that connection with someone. To never have done any of that childhood bonding stuff, to never have a real conversation (hell I'm lucky if my brother even says hello to me) it wears you down which was why I think for the past week (along with other stresses, aka working on living arrangements/job stuff/not wanting to be a boy-becoming a girl) I've been feeling just so fucking down. And I know I should try to cherish my relations and blood because I'll miss them when they're gone but I wonder about that, I can be a very cold person at times Maybe that's hwy I feel no problem changing my last name as well, because I feel no connection to it or any of it's holders.. sigh, Whatever happened to those Full House endings? I think I'm going to try to hug my mom now, while I still can.
end recording. (and yeah i don't think i can or did fully articulate what I was trying to. fuck. whatevs)

But Who Will Catch the Predator Catchers?

or When tv news magazines feud, we all win.

ABC, on 20/20 tonight is having an investigation of NBC and their money raking ratings getting To Catch a Predator segments featured on Dateline and the controversial and kind of creepy partners Perverted Justice and their role in the suicide of north texas prosecutor Louis Contradt, a man that they were about to bust. NBC, to counter and preempt ABC's scoop, broadcast their own investigation, apparently Wednesday night. I am intrigued. Brian Ross the investigative guy from 20/20 claims that they're not trying to "take down" one of the few ratings bright spots of a rival network, but of course they are. I'm sure each network is looking for ways to get an edge, though usually I don't think they do it in public and so vocally. ABC is just lucky that they can claim they are following a story, which they are. To Catch a Predator has gotten mad controversial.
I watched To Catch a Predator I guess the first few times it was on just because the johns, or suspects, or whatever you call them were usually owned and it was funny, but after a couple of viewings it just got sort of repetitive, there is very little difference between the shows besides different perversions, and disgusting seeing so many guys hoping to "be friends" with pre-teens. And I'm not surprised people would enjoy watching it and have To Catch a Predator viewing parties because people love to see justice and for many, public humilation is evident justice, and it comforts many people that these predators are dimwitted enough to be caught in such a sting. Also, I suppose it gets bad men off the streets.
But as Radar found out in a pretty shocking article, the guys who are helping the police, and NBC I guess, clean the streets of the bad guys aren't so clean and good themselves. In fact they're pretty scary. Xavier von Erck, the founder of Perverted Justice, as Radar demonstrates is a rather angry vindicative power hungry and weird man. He seems to be so obsessed with himself that he wants to continue holding onto whatever power he has and is not above actively seeking to crush those who question his practices. An anecdote about an anti Perverted Justice activist named Raisley:
Von Erck claims he contacted local authorities in Arkansas and the FBI about Raisley but they "simply weren't moving fast enough for my tastes,” So he decided to mete out his own form of perverse justice, introducing himself to Raisley online, via instant messenger.
He called himself "Holly."
Holly and Raisley hit it off. They conducted a months-long correspondence via IM, and gradually, Raisley fell in love with his new online pal. Holly would occasionally inquire about Raisley's anti-Perverted Justice activities, but eventually the conversation turned to sex:

[Raisley]: what r u doing?
[Holly]: I have my fingers in
[Raisley]: i am holding it
[Holly]: are you rubbing it
[Raisley]: r u rubbing your clit?
[Holly]: yes. it feels so good baby

The couple had cybersex twice. Holly repeatedly begged Raisley to masturbate in front of a webcam for her. Raisley told her about his son, his job, his role as a Boy Scout troop leader. Eventually, Raisley came clean to his wife about Holly, told her that they were in love, and declared that Holly was moving to Arkansas. After securing an apartment for the two of them to live in, he went to pick up Holly at the airport. He was carrying flowers.

Von Erck never got on the plane, but he did find someone to go to the airport at the appointed time to snap a picture of a hopeful Raisley waiting for his love to arrive. Then he posted it online, along with the entire text of their chat and a threat to release a video file he claimed showed Raisley masturbating. And then this message to Perverted Justice's detractors: "[W]hen you attempt to threaten members of Perverted-Justice.com ... this can happen to you. Tonight, Bruce Raisley stood around at an airport, flowers in hand, waiting for a woman that turned out to be a man. He's not in love. He has destroyed his relationship with his wife, he has denigrated her, and he has betrayed all those around him. He has no one. He has no more secrets. We at Perverted-Justice.com will only tolerate so much in the way of threats and attacks upon us."

Esquire also has a very long and detailed article that sheds more light on Perverted Justice and on the Contradt case, in which Contradt who had ben IM'ing a Perverted Justice decoy that he thought was underage. Contradt, however, never showed up at the house that To Catch a Predator was staking out. The police went to his house to arrest him at which point he killed himself. His sister is now suing.
I want you to decide for yourself, but I think that no matter how much good they think this is doing it is really creepy and their techniques are kind of sleazy and it's all sort of unmonitored so who knows what can happen. And NBC working with them so closely seems kind of murky (even one of the producers thinks so.) The cops couldn't y'know arrest the guys before they are publicly tarred? Of course not there are advertising dollars and dvd sales to be had. With all that being said I still won't be watching 20/20. It is Friday night. And be a god neighbor, if you see Chris Hanson in your neighborhood sound the alarm; He's creepy and up to no good.

Human Giant actually had one of the best things, or at least the most entertaining that I've seen about how creepy and sordid this whole thing is or has become. It's Predator vs. Predator.

If You Were Keeping Score at Home

Mike Nifong the man, and UNC alum, whose naked ambition was most responsible for this only got a day in jail. Paris Hilton, as you might remember was sentenced to 45 days, served 23 and suffered the hatred of the millions when she was transferred to home arrest after 5 days in jail. And she didn't ruin 4 families lives, the reputation of a city and a University or cost me a 2006 Lacrosse title.
In case you were wondering. About justice or whatever...
It's alright though, his life is fucked and everywhere around the country his name is synonymous with

(he's an asshole)

(just something I remember; before all of that mess broke I remember walking to Brightleaf or the Joyce and passing his campaign signs in the grass and always assumed with a last name like Nifong he was asian. I think that fact still confuses me a little.

Gonzo's Gone Gone

That was always too good and cute a nickname for such an asshole.
After years of disgrace and ineffectiveness Alberto Gonzales resigned today, effective in 3 weeks. I remember when he was first made counsel and then AG and it was trumpeted as a great move for the country and also a big step for him personally and his seemingly limitless future. People were even thinking of him being nominated for the Supreme Court (halfway down the page)
Yada yada yada, which leads us to today.
And then after"Al" finished authorizing torture with semantic wrangling, trying to turn the Attorney's Office into a political apparatus and lying about wiretapping, Georgie, in his own little world as usual, blamed Congress for, and I quote, "months of unfair treatment, that has created a harmful distraction at the Justice Department" and for dragging Alberto Gonzales' "good name trough the mud." Coming on the heels of Karl Rove resigning it seems like that the rats that ate through the steering control wires, are now fleeing the ship they've led astray.
And if Bush actually goes through with his reported plan to nominate Michael Skeletor Chertoff (he's been FANTASTIC as DHS secretary) as Attorney General he'll have even more balls than I though, especially to risk making an already incredibly tough confirmation (continually refusing and disregarding Congress' subpoenas might piss them off a tad) almost impossible. But of course that wouldn't be the first time Bush has disregarded commonsense and popular will; he's been doing this to the world for the last 6 and a half years.

So Albie; peace out. I have a hard time believing anyone will miss you. You were easily the worst Attorney General of my lifetime, and that's saying a helluva lot.
