Machines 'to match man by 2029'; Will Enslave Them Later That Same Year

Bloodthirsty renegade cyborgs created by tax dodging corporations wreak havoc. Pissed off androids tired of being slaves to a godless & gutless system, where the rich get richer & the poor get fucked over and out, unleash total world wide destruction by means of nuclear holocaust, annihilating the terrified masses, leaving in its torturous wake nothing but vicious, cannibalistic, mutating, radiating, and horribly disfigured hordes of satanic killers, bent on revenge,
But against whom? there are so few left alive.
-Busta Rhymes – There is Only One Year Left

I am increasingly terrified of machines and robots becoming self aware so when the BBC published a story with this headline, well..just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you

Machines will achieve human-level artificial intelligence by 2029, a leading US inventor has predicted.

Humanity is on the brink of advances that will see tiny robots implanted in people's brains to make them more intelligent, said Ray Kurzweil.

The engineer believes machines and humans will eventually merge through devices implanted in the body to boost intelligence and health.

"It's really part of our civilisation," Mr Kurzweil explained.

"But that's not going to be an alien invasion of intelligent machines to displace us."

Machines were already doing hundreds of things humans used to do, at human levels of intelligence or better, in many different areas, he said.

Man versus machine

"I've made the case that we will have both the hardware and the software to achieve human level artificial intelligence with the broad suppleness of human intelligence including our emotional intelligence by 2029," he said.
"We're already a human machine civilisation; we use our technology to expand our physical and mental horizons and this will be a further extension of that."

Humans and machines would eventually merge, by means of devices embedded in people's bodies to keep them healthy and improve their intelligence, predicted Mr Kurzweil.

"We'll have intelligent nanobots go into our brains through the capillaries and interact directly with our biological neurons," he told BBC News.

The nanobots, he said, would "make us smarter, remember things better and automatically go into full emergent virtual reality environments through the nervous system".

A question: I don’t know much about Star Trek but weren’t Borgs or whatever when humans merged with machines, or when humans were assimilated by them?
Anyway I really need to get off the grid- being part machine is just really creepy
But on a more general dystopic robot overlord note
If scientist have to do this can’t they build in some system safeguards- like if they have to have machines reach human levels of intelligence can we at least have that level be that of an average 10 year old, or maybe someone who is functionally retarded?
It would be a lot more if we knew that we could always outsmart them if they ever decided to enslave us all, which they almost certainly will choose to do.
[Update: In a really spooky coincidence or terrifying omen Youtube has this clip of an introduction to Terminator 2 and what is the year of this bleak war torn wasteland? 2029

yay! future!
