Who’s Gay Today?

Apparently Hayden Christensen. And it seems like this has either been an open secret or just a much discussed gossip item for a while
This site is pretty intensive and passionate about it back from 2003 (just a warning a lot of those links may be dead)

Recently, an American (gay-oriented) magazine published a picture of Hayden
Christensen with a young man who was described as Hayden's boyfriend. The young
man had colored his hair from dark to blonde, has been described as being better
looking than Hayden, and it has been claimed that he is an actor also.
Subsequently, speculation grew on the Internet and other environments that
Hayden Christensen was gay and that the young man in the picture was his
boyfriend.

Have you seen that magazine? Have you seen that picture? Do you know who is
Hayden Christensen's 'boyfriend'?

However, the details of the contents of that picture do not really matter to the
contents of this article, but instead, the details of the contents of the heart,
mind, and soul, of Trevor Blumas and Hayden Christensen, is what really matters
to this article, and should be what matters to you also, I suggest.

A few years ago, Hayden Christensen appeared in a film entitled 'Life as a
House' in which he apparently played a disturbed homosexual, dressed in extreme
fashion and spiking and coloring his hair and wearing jewelry and piercings in a
reckless manner, but in which his character eventually rejects and impugns
homosexuals and homosexuality, and which is also one of the themes of the movie
itself.

A few years ago, Trevor Blumas appeared in a film entitled 'The Unsaid':

which appeared on the surface (in the end) to be a film portraying homosexuals
in an apparently negative light, but actually did not, and Trevor played his
role sensitive to homosexual issues, with an awareness of gay/bisexual teen
suicide issues, and as if he blamed his father in the film for his gay teen
suicide, and not his 'molester.'

A few years ago, Hayden Christensen obtained the role of Anakin Skywalker (Darth
Vader) in the "Star Wars" series of films, and a few years ago, it is said,
Hayden Christensen did an interview with "The Advocate" magazine in which it has
been described by some that he all but says he's gay. And a few years ago Trevor
Blumas started doing things like spiking his hair, and wearing necklaces, and
wearing earrings in both his ears, and wearing rings on his right hand ring
finger, and wearing exclusively silver jewelry.

Hayden Christensen and Trevor Blumas are a case study that prove that true
beauty is not defined by only physical attributes, but also by mental and
spiritual attributes that are just as, if not more, important than beauty that
is only skin (or face) deep.

You see, the thing about Trevor Blumas is, as beautiful as Trevor is at first
glance, his heart, mind, and soul are even more beautiful.

And some other people, like Hayden Christensen, who at first glance appear to be
beautiful in their own right, are not really as beautiful as they may seem, and

good thing Yahoo! Answers-Malaysia has an answer:

Short answer: No.

PLASMA
A Jedi lightsaber is plasma contained in a magnetic field. Plasma is basically the form of matter which stars are made of. Pre-Crisis Superman has flown through the heart of a star without being harmed. Therefore, he is immune to plasma.

Post-Crisis Superman was not as invulnerable, e.g. a nuclear explosion would weaken him. Assuming a lightsaber contains power similar to a nuclear explosion, it could similarly disrupt his invulnerability during impact. See FORCE OF IMPACT below.

RED LIGHTSABERS
Superman receives his power from the radiation of our yellow sun, and is weakened when exposed to radiation from a red sun. It is possible that a sith lightsaber, being red, might have similar properties.

Even so, Superboy Prime was defeated after being plunged through Krypton's red sun - which weakened him, but did not destroy him. Therefore, a red lightsaber which hypothetically had the same properties as a red star should have a similar effect, i.e. it would injure him, but not "cut" him, much less cut through him.

FORCE OF IMPACT
If Superman were rendered vulnerable by a lightsaber, it would likely create a momentary weakness in that spot, allowing the physical impact to cause damage. However, lightsaber blades, being made of plasma, presumably have a very small mass. Therefore, the force of the impact would be negligible.

In short, hitting Superman with a red lightsaber is like hitting a normal human with a wet noodle.

Though there is some disagree on this point:

• This question is interesting, I do not think a lightsaber will be able to cut though Superman. Then again I could be wrong. I like what the first guy said, it had something to do with lasers or whatever it is that they are made out of. That stuff probably couldn't cut though the man of steel. As for Jedi Mind tricks, I doubt Superman is weak minded, so that is probably a no. They will not work on him.
• Lightsaber CANNOT cut through Superman.Most people think that lightsabers that is powered up by Kryptonite could cut Superman. The truth is they don't know that lightsabers were powered by crystals,while Kryptonite is a kind of metal.(Even Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster made a comic book called."The K-metal from Krypton") Both magic and kryptonite are not a guaranteed win. That's like saying anyone with blues music can beat the Hulk since it will relax him.
• Superman's invulnerability is well established, and I know of comic book stories where he survives a nuclear bomb, and flies through the heart of a star; a lightsaber seems underwhelming in comparison. A lightsaber beam would have as much effect on Superman as a beam from a flashlight would have on you or I.
• Yes a lightsaber can cut through superman. Superman was impervious to earth weapons but a lightsaber was not created on earth so i will say that it can cut him. But if we want to get all technical i dont think this question could have an answer as neither are from the same universe. Each of the characters universes have their own rules and physics. Also an important aspect would be the location of this fight. Superman got his powers from the yellow sun so if they are some place where there is no sun then superman would just be a regular dude and the jedi would have no problem cuttin' him down.
• I would say yes, under the following conditions:
• 1) Superman has been weakened somehow - several planets in the SWG orbit red suns, for example.
• 2) If the lightsaber being used mimics the power of a red sun on Supes (only an evil Sith would try and cut Superman, and they all use red lightsabers, right?)
• 3) If the wielder of the saber was using Force powers to augment the attack, AND SWG Force powers were close enough in property to DCU "magic" to effect Superman in the same way.
• 4) If Superman stood still for a very, very long time, and the saber wielder was very patient.
• Otherwise, I'm guessing it would only superficially wound him, though it would do so more than any normal Earth weapon could
• a light saber is not a laser...everybody knows that... it all depends on what kind of light waves are coming out of the the light saber. if the light waveforms are similar propertiesto a white sun, it would only make superman stronger, but if its similar to the red sun, it would definitely kill him, because then it would be like kryptonite
• Can a lightsaber cut through superman? Only under special circumstances. From what I know about Supe's invulnerability is that it's like a close "forcefield" around him. It gets weakened when exposed to kryptonite, denied energy from Earth's yellow sun for an extended amount of time, and I believe it can also be shut down by magic (Zatana can totally kick his *** ;D ). Lightsabers I believe can be stopped by magnetic forcefields - like the kind that contains the plasma of other lightsabers. If supes has a "forcefield" around him, the lightsaber would not cut him. If you weakened that force field, it probably would, but it would be really difficult. Superman would be able to completely be able to fight back and slap the jedi or sith around like a red-headed step child. But the Jedi would have other abilities at his disposal to help him cut superman. If you did trick out a lightsaber with red sun plasma, then Superman would probably be in for a moment of hurt...and feeling the kryptonite sickness. Wether or not a sith lightsaber is red sun plasma is debatable. You could probably build one though. Also superman would be very busy trying to beat the jedi down. Even weakened, he's no pushover. It would come down to who acted first. Jedi can see the future, so would have a good shot at being prepared for supes with knowledge and reflexes. Superman would also be susceptible to force powers like the jedi mind trick and telekinetic force powers. Jedi can also dampen energy attacks and stop blaster fire (possibly like his eye beams). Superman does have a strong will, so it would take someone who was really good with mind powers(like yoda or palpatine) to do it. It would take a highly trained and/ or specialized jedi to fight Superman without preparing for it in any case. If Superman were up against several jedi, then you would have real shot of cutting him with a lightsaber. So, can a Jedi lightsaber cut through Superman? Possible, but not likely.

My conclusion? There are a lot of people at there who have waaay more time on their hands than me

The WGA Strike: Day 23 of...

Jill Sobule (love her) has shown her support for the writers with a song in their honor "We Are The Writers." I'm not sure yet but I still think I prefer Lisa's Union Strike Folk Song.

Slate has a good article about why labor negotiations are usually held at night. The short answer? People have to work during the day, though if there is a strike I would think no one would be working leaving plenty of time to hammer things out.

And the AMPTP's response? Jonathan Handel at Huffington Post has the exclusive video...er, no and that's what he sees as a problem

"like the dog that didn't bark, the real mystery is why the producers haven't produced. The AMPTP has created no YouTube videos of its own, opting instead for the old-media alternative of occasional paid advertising in the NY Times, LA Times and trades, and an op ed piece in the LA Times. I wish I could offer you a link to the AMPTP's new YouTube video -- like my headline promises -- but I can't, because there isn't one. The companies' strategy has been more NoTube than YouTube.

But why? With all their resources, why haven't the AMPTP companies produced and distributed video content of their own? It's not for lack of writers; the companies could use non-WGA writers if they wished, since new media is not a covered area, and in-house promotional activity presumably isn't either (and, in any case, the WGA agreement expired October 31 and is no longer in effect).

The only remaining explanation is that the studios and networks -- the country's largest media companies -- just don't understand new media, or they have carelessly allowed their representative, the AMPTP, to function without comprehending the importance of new media. Online, and on cellphone and iPod screens, is increasingly where the eyeballs are, not to mention the hearts and minds (thankfully, that's as anatomical as we need to get). Newspapers, and television, also matter, a lot; but ignoring a fast-growing, young-skewing medium makes companies seem stodgy at best, and ever more the villain -- or, "the man," if you prefer -- at worst.

yeah I think everyone is on the side of the writers. Though a day is coming soon that is really going to suck when there are no new episodes. Over at HuffPo again they have a quick list of what's left and what's gone and it's getting a little upsetting. Some that will affect me:

• Fox airs a fresh "House" Tuesday. After that, only three more new episodes remain, slotted for January-one of them following Fox's Super Bowl broadcast
• CBS'... sitcom [How I Met Your Mother] has similarly run dry
• The planned January return of Fox's "24" has been postponed indefinitely. Since only some of the series' 24 episodes have been shot, Fox didn't want to risk beginning a new season that might be interrupted. and finally
• ABC's "Ugly Betty," "Pushing Daisies" and "Grey's Anatomy" each have two new episodes to go. ABC's "Desperate Housewives" airs the last of its current stock of new episodes Sunday.The final new episode of NBC's "Heroes" airs Dec. 3.

  _ Fox's "K-Ville" has two new episodes left, with dim prospects for production to resume on this low-rated freshman drama. Well, at least that is a silver lining.

Midnight Musings

or as close to midnight as I can get on a weekday.

So today, for some reason, I got to thinking about if I could, what three things would I get rid of? And what I think I came up with and that actually satisfies me* is

1. Hate. (I was going to put Fear here but fear can actually serve quite a noble purpose to keep people from doing things which could be hurtful or destructive)
2. Capitalism. ( I was going to put war or violence here but then I figured that without Hate and without the greed that my pseudo-intellectual socialist mind believes is the natural result of a capitalistic system brings, there would be no reason for people to fight or to start wars. Not because of prejudice or want for natural resources)
3. And on a purely selfish and personal note, my "penis." (It really would solve so, so many problems. Even having a barbie doll crotch would be preferable at this point.)

So how about you guys, anybody who is out there or that cares? What three things would you get rid of, if you could? They can be noble or selfish, universal or personal, whatever. Feel free to rant.

*though i guess to remove the world of pride could also solve like every problem, but thats too buddhist for me.
