Your Stuck in my Head Song of the Day

I've had this song in my head since maybe Saturday(?) so this is a great opportunity to not only have an amazing song in this spot but also to get it out of my head (and possibly give a clue to Best Band Ever*, maaybe.) it's by Ben Gibbard and Dntel otherwise known as The Postal Service (y'know the one that doesn't screw up your mail way too often) and the song is We Will Become Silhouettes:

I've got a cupboard with cans of food,
filtered water, and pictures of you
and I'm not coming out until this is all over.
And I'm looking through the glass
Where the light bends at the cracks
And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs
Pretending the echoes belong to someone
Someone I used to know

And we become silhouettes when our bodies finally go
ba ba ba ba

I wanted to walk through the empty streets
And feel something constant under my feet,
But all the news reports recommended that I stay indoors
Because the air outside will make
Our cells divide at an alarming rate
Until our shells simply cannot hold
All our insides in,
And that's when we'll explode
(And it won't be a pretty sight)

And we'll become silhouettes when our bodies finally go
ba ba ba ba

My only question is we will become silhouettes when our bodies go "ba ba?" or will we become silhouettes when our bodies finally go...with ba ba being a whimsical utterance. And I think I may like an image of becoming a silhouette, though that image kind of reminds me of the typical remains of victims like in a nuclear blast, which is depressing. Either way here is the video (with the fabulous Jenny Lewis) for Your Stuck In My Head Song of The Day "We Will Become Silhouettes" by The Postal Service

I've decided I really like this video; it reminds me of a time and place I have never known but still seems strangely familiar and the end totally reminds me of like Luke staring at the twin suns of Tatooine (god I'm such a nerd) [And that's why I thought it gave off that strange Napoleon Dynamite feel-they were both directed by the same guy, Jared Hess]

Rilo Kiley Has A New Video

And I am so excited. This video is for their forthcoming album Under The Blacklight and it is a totally different direction. The first 9 minutes are basically interviews with actors in the porn business, all with pretty compelling stories. I think it would make an interesting full length documentary, but anyway I don't know what the intent really was, but I though it was sort of like Shortbus, in the way it attempted to demystify sex, and make some people realize that porn stars are not necessarily screwed up but have dreams and what not (and the fact the Faye Runaway and I have similar career goals is a little freaky) But stick around for the full nine minutes, its pretty cool. The actual song The Moneymaker kicks in around the 9 minute mark and it kicks. The bass line actually makes me wanna get up and shake my...moneymaker. Watch it here, it will be well worth your time. God I love this band.

Your Simply Amazing Stuck in My Head Song of the Day

okay I'm exhausted so this is gonna be quick (i say that a lot, don't it) but this song is simply amazing. It's called A Man/Me/ Then Jim and is by easily one of my favorite bands of all time (in all seriousness, not like the Spiced Ones) Rilo Kiley. It's from their album More Adventurous (buy it!) I worship Jenny Lewis, kind of wanna be her and sort of wanna become famous just so there would be a chance I could meet her. I listened to this song seriously 6 times in a row while in downtonw today and I have been singing it in my head since then. The lyrics are simple phenomenal and the line " it's just a gradual descent into a life I never meant" should be a call and a warning to live the life you want.
They never made an official video to the song but here is a live version. Enjoy sweethearts. It and you all make me happy.

Good night and dream well
